Many of our Fine Arts Club members were missing yesterday because the soccer team was having a party. I didn't want to start a huge new project with so many members not present. We started working on our art journals. We have been focusing on the elements of art and their definitions. Yesterday, each club member matched up the element of art to it's definition and that was added to their journal. This gave us some time to review the terms and their meanings.
After the club members finished updating their art journals, we talked about the colors that are found in Day of the Dead skull artwork. We discussed the symmetry that is found in the majority of the skulls. Even the skulls that aren't perfectly symmetrical, still have a large percentage of symmetry and a sense of balance. Each club member then started working on their own skull artwork. When finished, the skulls will be displayed for the school's Day of the Dead celebration.
